Started at La Chula's

Villa's Tacos starts as a front yard pop-up at Chef Victor Villa's grandmother's home in Highland Park.

2021

First Championship

Villa's wins its first L.A. Taco Madness title, earning recognition across Los Angeles.

2022

Making Taco Madness History

Villa's becomes the first and only three-time Taco Madness Champion in the competition's history.

Feb. 2023

A permanent home

With the support of our community, we opened our first brick-and-mortar location, transforming a front yard favorite into a permanent gathering place.

July 2023

Recognized by the Michelin Guide

Villa's earns its first Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction, beginning a three-year streak of recognition from the Michelin Guide.

Netflix Feature

Chef Victor Villa appears on Netflix's Taco Chronicles: Cross the Border, sharing Villa's story with a global audience.

March 2025

Villa's Tacos Goes Coastal

The opening of our third location introduced a new seafood concept inspired by Baja-style cooking, featuring fresh fish, shrimp, and grilled specialties alongside the flavors our community has come to love.

Feb. 2026

The Super Bowl

Victor joins Bad Bunny during the Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, representing taqueros and immigrant entrepreneurs on one of the world's biggest stages.
